🌿 The Material

Nature's Answer to Plastic

The Areca catechu, commonly known as the betel nut palm, sheds its fronds naturally throughout the year. The protective leaf sheath — historically considered agricultural waste — forms the foundation of our eco-friendly solutions.

Collecting fallen areca palm leaf sheaths

Why Areca Leaves

Every sheath is unique

Each sheath carries the distinct grains and hues of the environment it grew in. By upcycling this fallen resource, we transform nature's discard into sustainable, elegant products without cutting down a single tree.

From Forest Floor to Your Table

A transparent look at how we transform nature's fallen leaves into beautiful, functional wares.

01

Collection

Local communities hand-gather the naturally shed leaf sheaths from the plantation floors. This provides an additional source of income for rural farmers without altering their agricultural practices.

02

Cleaning & Sun-Drying

The collected sheaths are thoroughly washed using high-pressure fresh water to remove dirt and sand. They are then naturally sun-dried to reduce moisture, a critical step before molding.

Heat Pressing

The dried sheaths are placed into heated molds. The natural moisture and heat press the leaves into sturdy, beautiful shapes, simultaneously sterilizing the final product. No adhesives or coatings are added.
